[All that’s showing is a blur of ground and leaves. The sound keeps crackling in and out, what little audio there is mostly consisting of harsh ringing tone each time the Pokegear is whipped around through the air, and thunked against the ground. Brand new, and it’s already getting the rough treatment.]

[ It was a few minutes between the moment when Leon originally saw the post and the time he felt composed enough to answer it. His heart feels like a ship barely tethered out to sea, wondering, hoping. It's fitting, maybe, that when the feed clicks on, there's the sound and sight of rolling waves lapping at the beach behind him. He musters up as much of a smile as Leon ever has. ]

I don't really get it...they just gave me a monkey and told me to leave.

[Said 'monkey' is sticking more blades of grass in Sora's hair.]

[ A nod. ] Don't worry about it too much--everyone's given a pokemon and told to leave.

[ There's a soft prrrum sound before a giant metal head emerges from behind Leon. Skarmory catches sight of Sora and squawks her horrible, metal-saws-grindigng-noise-of-death squawk by way of greeting. Leon, who is immune by now, ignores it. ]

It's about three days to Cherrygrove if you follow the map. Is Riku coming to get you?

[It suits Leon, really. A pause, and Sora rips his eyes away from the pixel image, attending to the matter at hand.]

He said he would, yeah! We're meeting at Cherrygrove.

[ Leon looks over his shoulder. Skarmory prrrs again, and he obediently reaches up and scratches her throat. ]

This is Skarmory--she was my first pokemon.

[ He's probably been here a while, if the familiar look they share is anything to go by. ]

If he's taking you to Olivine, you will. I'm building a house by the beach.

[What else is he supposed to say to a giant metal bird? Sora's seen that look on Leon's face before- but the surprise is that it's shared. More like a couple than a pokemon and trainer.]

There's a beach here. [ Skarmory hurries out of the way so that Leon can turn the camera towards the waves. ] Maybe not as nice as the one back home you've told me about, but I think you'll like it.

[Whilst Sora doesn't catch the friendly undertones, Riku does. It's tail wave in a lazy fashion, fingers wriggling in greeting.]

Not as nice as home, but its a beach. [His keyblade for a beach! Kind of literally, in this situation.] I can't wait- you sure it'll take three days?

[Sora's up on his feet and walking as he continues the visual, now. If its gonna take three days, he's go no time for sitting around!]

But what about Riku? What am I supposed to do with her?

[Not that he minds her tagging along; is second nature to have a companion with him at all times, but still.]

I know you will. As for Riku, [ okay he is privately amused, but keeping that to himself ] keep her in her ball or out of it, it's up to you. She'll protect you on the road.
