Originally uploaded by threw_a_spark. But quite a spread it was, and I helped. I am all into the green bean casserole, which is relatively easy, unlike relatives. But isn't it darling, still, no matter what sort of happening it was? The quiet butter dish sitting alongside the mingling olives and that stack of well stuffings, and the turkey split out and white on a plate. Cranberry sauce to taste, sparkling apple cider in good clean glasses that I insisted on, and a few lit candles sparkling out of glassware, and the yams. Truth be told, I am not much for the yams, at all, but I helped slice them and sprinkle the brown sugar so it felt like I was of assistance, even if I tended to foul up instructions every now and then. And pumpkin pie to follow, with that dab of whip, and so help us all, it was Thanksgiving, whether you liked it or not.
