Sylar knew that Chandra was more valuable to him alive than dead. It was only a matter of time...
It was, most notable, a day unlike any other. Despite Lyle being just another brilliant adoption, as Peter had so nicely put it, accompanied by one of his trademark winks, when he turned 14, he needed glasses.
It wasn't every day that a man turned 14. Nor was it every day that a man received glasses.
Muggles agreed.
It took him three minutes to alert Kaito - who also wasn't really dead in everyone's best interest - to tell Peter to get his ass to California.
It was a long but nice flight from Ireland to California, and Peter debated stopping to say hi to Nathan and shave him but refrained, knowing he had to be on time for Lyle's birthday.
Chandra was watching. He'd been practicing on birds - all this birdwatching and now he realized that binoculars just weren't necessary if he was sitting on one of the tree branches right outside of Lyle's window, looking inside. Too bad.
It was a miracle he wasn't seen. For a second or two he thought that Muggles had deduced as much, smart as he was.
But luck was on his side today, and he watched as Muggles and Lyle both entered, peering into the hallway as they ushered Peter inside.
It was so forbidden fruit of them! Chandra wanted to touch himself for a moment, thinking of Monty back home in New York, only to realize that having to hold onto the branch with one hand and having to hold onto the binoculars in the other had him in a quite compromising position and he could do nothing to change it at all. Damn.
Perhaps he would have been better off even far away! Seeing less detail, but feeling all the details!
Oh, but things were just getting interesting and Chandra forgot all about touching himself for a moment there, refocusing on what was going on on Lyle's bed.
...my god, this almost made birthdays worth it, even in his age.
