SGA Fic Rec

Apr 24, 2011 21:27

I seriously don't have a x-over tag after all these years? For real?? I know that it's something that's bothered me since my first year, and I really. never. corrected. that. WTH/WTF? TJ. uFail.

So, because I am still desperately clinging on to the belief that I am NOT going to start doing SPN recs, I am not, Iamnotiamnotiswears! I nonetheless feel safe in reccing this story because it is an SGA/SPN crossover.

Yes. Yes, that is what I am going with.

Anyway.

oneiriad wrote a crossover. It's called The Origin of Theobroma

It has Gabriel. And Rodney.

I just finished writing her a (embarrassingly) gushing feedback, but the gist of it is this: oneiriad shows an undeniable love and knowledge of both fandoms with how she has written and portrayed both the characters and backdrop curtain of the story. She managed to weave two very separate fandoms (frankly two fandoms that I considered nearly diametrically opposed) together. She also showed a most excellent use of English prose and grammar, as this story (and don't. you. DARE. let this turn you off) is written in the 2nd person.

If you want to learn about the Gabriel/Trickster I've loved and adored since his first moment on SPN (hee! the hop at the body hitting the ground! Seriously, R.S.Jr = *brilliant*!), this story will hopefully give you a very good idea.

This is the Gabriel I love: vaguely mired in humanity, trickster (mythological, though SPN actually did a good job on that, for once) through and through, a bit of a horndog, and a bit of something just-a-lot-more shining through.

SGA people: Let this not freak you out. It is is in the SGA-verse, and has just enough that it still qualify's for mona1347's 'Acid' reference.

SPN people: Do not despair. For there are demons, and angels, and most importantly: Gabriel in all his Glory. *nods*

Please go read this (short) story, and if you enjoy, let the author know.
