Alicia drowns her sorrows in the lake
Alicia’s legs carried her to the lake of her own accord. It was dark and Alicia was hurting. She wandered down the dock. The hot tears streaming down her cheeks made the cool lake grow more and more inviting. When she reached the end, she decided she couldn’t stand it anymore. Something needed to give. And it was easiest for everyone if it was Alicia.
She took a shaky breath and let herself fall into the water. It would all be over soon.
As she hit the water, Alicia swore loudly. “Fuck, it’s fucking cold!” The cold woke her up, and she suddenly realized this was stupid. She grabbed onto the dock and hauled herself out of the water. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. You’re not the first person to have your heart broken. She swallowed hard and wiped the water and tears from her face then, turning, headed back toward the cabins. A good long cry was in order - hopefully Shawn would be around.
