Iron Man Recs
First off, these recs owe a debt to unfitforsociety, because several come from her rec list. Also, makesmewannadie gets a shoutout for reccing the last story. Basically, I am last to the game. But these are totally worth it.
Iron Man/Doctor Who Crossover:
The Complications of Mechanics by elsi-dissapear--Tony/Pepper, Ten/Rose, G-ish -- Yes, it's an Iron Man/Doctor Who crossover. Rose and Pepper bond while the Doctor and Tony Stark geek out over the suit. How much better can you get? It's pure awesome.
Iron Man:
Follow Your Shame by atrata--Tony/Pepper, R. -- It's fair to say this is my favorite Iron Man fic I've read at this point. atrata always brings fucked up dynamics to the party and it's something Tony/Pepper can use more of. This is a fic that really stands out from the rest. Plus, it's got what is probably the hottest scene I've ever read in which no one actually touches. Excellent, go read.
Blame The Coffee by queen_haq--Tony/Pepper, PG-13--I think this fic has some of the best banter I've read yet. Just wonderful voices. I don't get how people write dialog like this. Porn, I get. Dialog this great? I do not get. Also, check out the sequels The Little Black Dress and Sleeping Beauty Needs Her Louboutins.
Four Time Pepper Considered Quitting and the One Time She Did by seren_ccd--Mostly Gen, PG-- A wonderful Pepper character study. It makes her choice of job really make sense. I've read some other "this is how Pepper ended up working for Tony" fics, but this one got to be personal canon.
Miscellaneous is Always the Largest Category by splash_the_cat-- Gen, G-- Pepper gets a call to rescue Tony. Funny and cute.
Five Rumors About Tony Stark That Aren't (Entirely) True--Tony/Emma Frost, Tony/Pepper, Tony/Bruce Wayne, Tony/Rhodey, Tony/robot, PG-- I didn't make those pairings up. This is hilarious. Pure fun.
Posthuman by gabby-silang-- Gen, PG-- A post-movie look at Tony. It really captures his motivations in a way I haven't seen elsewhere.
Proof by gabby-silang--Tony/Pepper, PG-13-- Tony builds Pepper a robot. Lovely and adorable. I need someone to build me a robot. Yes.
And finally, A Small and 100% Innocent Token of Gratitude by svillficrecs--Tony/Pepper, NC-17-- Umm. So, remember what I said about "Follow Your Shame" above? Yeah. That was my favorite IM story I'd read until this story. Because this isn't just my favorite IM story, or my favorite Tony/Pepper story, it's my favorite ANYTHING story I've read for a really, really long time. This is GOOD. Really, really amazingly good. HOT. Hot in a way I had forgotten fic could be. Everything is perfect here. The characterizations, the smut, the way everything happens. This is the story I wanted to read after I saw the movie. Hell, this is the story I wanted to write after I saw the movie (but knew I wasn't good enough). If you don't read this story, it's a crime. There. Go.
