My god. People. Blood is red. Outside or inside of the body. Arterial (that is, from the heart, to the body) blood is red. Venous (from the body back to the heart) blood is red (though very dark). However.
Just because your veins look blue,
under your skin,
does not mean the blood is blue.
Nor does this exciting blue blood magically turn red upon contact with oxygen.
The only reason the veins look blue under your skin is due to what happens when light passes through skin. I'm sad that I have to repeatedly explain this to people.
