Hello Livejournal! After what seemed like the longest and most sorrowful flight, I safely arrived at Las Vegas. Perhaps my trip would've been half as catastrophic had I been responsible and not forgotten my I-20 form at home! D: This flaw caused me an extra hour and a half inside the Second Immigration Office at LAX airport. (I was amongst people who were suspected of being illegal immigrants and criminals. :C) I was terrified that I wouldn't be allowed into the US as a student VISA holder, but we worked around it. I just have to get my dad to send me my form asap and I have to send that to Washington within a month or I have to return to Japan as a visitor.
Leaving Japan was not quite as difficult as I had imagined, but that's probably because it hasn't dawned on me that this time I wouldn't be returning in one month's time. However, saying goodbye to my friends was not an easy task. On Monday, I met Mizuho at Shibuya in the morning where we quickly had a light lunch at Monsoon. Then I scurried over to TGIF where
givethesignal,
willt, Monica, Sumi, Mary, KoheiKuwahara, EricaJacchman and I munched on appetizers and sundaes. Afterwards we played Sardines using the first three floors of Tokyu Hands, at which point a work exhausted Seiya joined us.
It was a good way to end a year of their fabulous company - nothing too extravagant, just a simple gathering to see them all for the last time. I do regret I never spent more time with all of them sooner. I miss them all a lot right now and hope that the internet will be a secure means to maintain our friendship across the miles that separate us.
