GUH! Why must they continue to extract every penny from any nook and cranny available?! Hasn't Harry Potter squeezed out enough profit as it is?! The books, the cassettes, the figurines, the films, the model sets, the highly decorative premieres - ALL OF WHICH I LOVE BEYOND MEASURE.
THIS is what pisses me off. Everyone knew that it was bound to happen and every fan is going to yell the same thing, "THAT'S TERRIBLE - THEY'RE COMPLETELY DESTROYING THE IMAGINATION PROCESS OF THE BOOKS - WHICH IS WHAT MAKE THEM SO GREAT" and they're going to hate that one project producer who thought he was the brilliant one who hit jackpot (because no one else in the world would've thought of such a splendid moneymaker) and then all the fans are going to buy year long passes and make it a monthly ritual to celebrate payday at Hogwarts, Florida.
Only two years ago, some Warner Brother associate came up to my Dad with the exact same offer of making a Harry Potter theme park here in Tokyo and my Dad came to me to issue the ultimatum. I actually pondered over this for a whole week and as much as I would've killed to partake in the project, I demanded my father decline the offer. YOU. JUST. CAN'T.
And they did. And hell knows that I'm going to be that person on CNN being interviewed for having lived in a sleeping bag for over a month to be the first one at the gate at the grand opening. THE FURY!!!! AND THE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE EXCITEMENT.
EDIT: I just read the first few comments under the link and suddenly I wanted to hurl. Not only are they missing the primary point, but one "Woman-Of-God" quotes, "the Church of Jesus Christ must rise up against this attack on our children and put a stop to this plan in the name of Jesus. We will not have a school of witchcraft and wizardry in this country under any circumstance!" I sincerely hope she was either kidding or on drugs when she wrote this.
