small charity sticker is small
Ah, day 3- the final day. Here's where we had no tickets ahead of time, since
they were done by our Thai friends through the overseas fans order system (since
2 SLAVE memberships, 2 FC PYROs and 1 SOUL'S MATE membership, as well as
multiple general eplus pre-orders ALL FAILED for the final day). I knew there
was no way our tickets would be as good as the first 2 days (kinda hard to
compete with #45, much less #1), and sure enough, once the ticket window
finally opened up (same time the doors did, which was the first giveaway) &
our friend went up through the crowd waiting in line to pick them up, it was
confirmed: 2290. Out of 2416 first floor spots. LOL. Oh well- much better than
not being there at all, or being forced to pay ¥250,000 for a ticket (which
is apparently how much some were going for on Yahoo auctions >_>). But
anyway. We'd already gotten our locker, and I'd grabbed a couple stickers for a
friend whom we'd lined up with the first day before realizing we wouldn't make
it to the front before doors & ditching the line, and who had his own LUNA
SEA cover band show that night I'd be heading to afterward! XD
Oh, and I had a FAIL. >_> While waiting for our numbers, I noticed a
guy w/ a video camera heading our way & was like "Uh-oh, I'll bet he's
coming over here to talk to Teh Foreigners". Sure enough, he came over to say he
was doing a documentary, at which point Girl & one of the others promptly
side-stepped out of the way, leaving me standing there w/ the other. I figured
"eh, why not?", but then he just said "OK" and started rolling. No prompt, no
topic, no nothing, just "OK, rolling". I blanked. Ended up standing there
looking dumb while my other friend talked about coming in from Thailand, it
being a long time, etc. etc., and me just smiling & nodding & going
"well, I live in Tokyo, but.... yeah..." MARGH. And of course with that, the guy
says "OK, thanks!" & heads off, and of course that's when I realized
I should've said something along the lines of "I can't believe how awesome it is
to be able to see LUNA SEA in a place like this- yesterday we were the first
ones in and it was AMAZING! THANK YOU LUNA SEA!!!!" Nope, just me staring
stupidly at the camera like
Ben
Wyatt. -_-; Oh well. Maybe they won't use it. XD

45, 1, 2291 - one of these tickets is not like the other... XD
Anyway. Once inside, since we were only about 100 people from the very last ones in,
it was obviously quite packed, but we went in from the left side and managed to
weave our way through people & duck under 2 barriers to get to the back of
the 3rd section- not bad for coming in so late! We had a fairly decent view (not
as good as day 2, obviously, but actually probably better than the 1st day, due
to being less packed in & having enough space to see over/around people's
heads), and, perhaps just as importantly, were in prime ribbon-grabbing
territory. :D
TV cameras were all over the place, as that day was being broadcast live, so
the set was expectedly a little more heavy on the hits than the last 2, although
we did still get a couple rarities- namely FALL OUT. Sugizo used his funky black
ES-shaped guitar w/ the white yin/yang-shaped pick guard (which I haven't
identified yet), which meant tremolo-picking the solo, since it didn't have a
sustainer. Or maybe he just felt like mixing it up a bit. We were also treated
to IN FUTURE (in full this time, but no pause in the middle like usual), G., and
DESIRE, which hadn't been played the previous 2 nights, and which fit the whole
未来・過去・現在 themes (provided 現在 is MOTHER/STYLE-era). Oh, and BELIEVE, but
that one's such a standard I hard count it as a 'treat'. XD Sugizo managed to
stop after the first measure of I for You and apologize- it didn't sound to me
like he'd played it wrong, so my best guess is that the backing track hadn't
started yet or something, and then Ryuichi apologized, saying "I'm been saying
'tonight', 'tonight' all day even though we started at 3:00. I guess 3:00 is
'night' for LUNA SEA nowadays!" lolz.
So, the show was done by 5, but we farted around for a bit outside again
afterward, talked to some more people, had some random people come up & ask
where we were from, etc. Met our Thai friends who'd run up to eat at the nearby
First Kitchen, & decided to grab something ourselves at the
not-quite-so-nearby-but-still-in-Odaiba Kua A'ina before heading off to Otsuka
for my friend's (apparently last) cover show.
Heading back to reality (aka work) after a bunch of consecutive shows always
sucks, but this time has been worse than normal. And while we'll be seeing LS
again in Osaka literally a week later, it just won't be the same as being
right. there. Been listening to all the live releases (unfortunately
can't sit at work & watch them all day, but at least I have all the DVDs
ripped to mp3 on my trusty iPod). Eventually I'll run out & have to move on
to something else. Oh well. Such is life.
