Went to a tiny live space on 11/20 to see
gacktisgod & a few other bands perform... apparently there was some drama before we got there, which resulted in one of the bands (and all of their fans) leaving... *sigh* Ended up meeting
a guy who looked strangely familiar, probably due to the fact that he goes to most of the same shows as us (BT, FAKE/OD, etc.), and who was also going to the FAKE? show a few days later! Small world. Anyway, it was cool to finally see her perform & hear
her music after knowing her for the past, what, nearly 2 years now?! Also- there was an
duo from Kyoto who were crazy, hilarious & awesome at the same time. Good times.
Next day was
another Metallica/Megadeth session. This time I played James' part on Jump in the Fire, Fade to Black & Ride the Lightning, plus Dave's part on Devil's Island and side guitar + vox on Wake Up Dead. Man. Don't think I'll be attempting any more Megadeth anytime soon. Need to practice a LOT more, 'cause I don't think I hit more than 25% of the notes in those solos... ;_; Think I had the most fun on Ride the Lightning (
video!), which is odd considering I didn't really know the song that well before signing up for it, since Sabrina requested it to sing, but then ended up not being able to make it. :(
Next up was the FAKE? live, where we ran into Avery again. Discussed the upcoming LUNA SEA shows, & found out he'd be going to the first one in Germany, where he'd be for a while.
Ze FAKE? show:
- Buzz
- Taste It
- Everglow
- Indigo Clean
- Just Like Billy
- D-Elite
- Novocaine
- Fade Away
- Utopia
- Automatic
- Praise
- Pulse [en]
- Disco
- 24hr Buzz [Oblivion Dust]
- Good-Bye
- You [Oblivion Dust]
- Taste Maximum
Rikiji was on bass, so the OD songs were a nice surprise (even if I tend to blur the 2 bands together & don't remember which songs are whose >_<;). They also passed out flyers afterward announcing 2 OD shows at AX in February! W00t!
After that, we were off to the states for a couple weeks to see family & new babies, then back here for a day & off to Hong Kong for LUNA SEA! Gonna hold off on that show review for now, though (it's possible I'll have to put them all into one big-ass post)...
