So, pretty much like their last two shows, there were 2 substitutions. Tonight we got Come Alive & The Ocean instead of No Regrets & When You Say... Still haven't heard Daisy or Man in the Sky... dunno if we ever will. Kinda like J's never played Flames, that I could find any record of.

Tonight's show was a LOT more packed. So the moshing was more compacted, instead of people jumping around back & forth across about 8' or so. So I got a lot more sweaty shirts bumping into my arm than last night. :P" Only really funny moment of the show was when Rikiji was standing up on a platform in the front center, & Ken was crawling around, & crawled behind him & stuck his head under Rikiji's legs for a bit. heh.

New Gackt single came out today... Girl just happened to ask if he was ever putting something new out while we were waiting before the show & I was like "Oh yeah- there's a new single coming out- 'Jesus'". And then checked my Dears emails & found that it was TODAY. So we stopped at Tower on the way home (which still doesn't even fucking have If All Goes Wrong, you motherfuckers... -_-; guess I'm gonna have to order it on amazon).

The verdict? Well, first off, thank Science it's a rock song (not like that ballady shitfest 野に咲く花のように or whatever). But really? I'm a little underwhelmed for several reasons. Yeah, the main song is pretty good, but there are several things working against it:
  • The "HEY!"s. It probably would've sounded cool if they'd gotten a venue full of fans to yell it. Instead, it sounds like a handful of 10 or so people who sound like they're smiling while they're yelling it- almost like the fucking "GHOOooostBUStersssss!" chick.
  • The double-bass drum/guitar triplets section from 1:49-1:58, which is a RIDICULOUS rip-off of Metallica's "One"
  • The fact that the b-side for the single is a re-recording of Sayonara - easily the worst song off of Rebirth (actually, probably the ONLY bad song from it (no, '4th' is not a song)). And it's not even a rearrangement- it's practically the exact same fucking song, arrangement & everything, right down to the violin solo. So what- more vibrato in the vocals? L4M3. (At least it's better than 野に咲く, which had 4 freakin' version of the same shitty song T_T;)
That said, I'm sure the song will be much better live- I'm pretty sure this is the first Gackt song where there's somewhere for the fans to all scream at once, and it seems to work pretty well at J shows. Then again, maybe not.

Oh, and maybe it's just 'cause I haven't seen the show it's apparently the theme for, but the video makes absolutely no sense. I'm sure if Gackt was American that video would be banned from every station for "promoting suicide" or something... 9_9; Oh wait- that would imply that music stations actually play videos anymore. Ha, silly me.

Anyway, I'm on early shift all week & have been tired as fuck every day, so it's bed time now. At least I'll be home relatively early tomorrow (i.e. before 11).
