CLASSIFICATION: Mermaid - If one was anal and needed to label her, she’d actually fall under “undead, but never got to live as a mermaid”. Mermaids are natural necromancers. So when she was stillborn, her mother revived her and now Lorelei needs the energy of souls at all times to maintain her form and life.
LIFESTYLE: Before Void, Lorelei swam between the river Acheron and the real world waters. She mostly eats raw fish, but eats other kinds of seafood, including the baby denizens of Acheron. Her secondary diet consists of the freshly dead to maintain her undead existence. Her closest companion is Charon. But Charon doesn’t consider her a friend so much as someone who’s more interesting than the general scenery and more tolerable than the general dead.
QUIRKS: She finds speaking very awkward and usually shortcuts her words and ideas to the bare minimum. If possible, she’ll resort to gesturing and making faces to communicate.
PERSONALITY: Her emotional range is very broad, but it’s actually shallow; meaning that, at best, everything is felt second-hand or distantly. She’s also gullible primarily by choice rather than by nature. For the most part, she’s somewhat more bestial than human, minding her own business and such unless something intrigues her.
FIGHTER TYPE: Scavenger/Defensive.
WEAPON: Dagger - She can trap souls as pearls (which then adorn her) with a dagger she can dig out from her left arm. When a soul has been exhausted, the pearl rots and eventually turns to dust.
ABILITIES:
Physical - Her tail is very powerful since it’s her sole means of movement. Her hands have really great gripping strength, and her body’s reflexes are faster than her brain.
Siren - Her (singing) voice is naturally enchanting and mesmerizing. Her song functions as an amplifier of her audience’s relevant emotions to that song. The less the person feels a certain emotion, the harder it is for her to make them focus on it.
Latent - If she’s injured, her body will reflexively drain her pearls faster to recuperate. Her pearls also keep her from fatigue, but she does slow down when moving becomes painful (ie trying to walk/crawl on land with her tail).
Transformation - She can cut her tail in half with her dagger and then focus on reforming the two halves as legs. Afterwards, her legs will sting constantly, and unless she stays conscious of her legs, they will revert back to being a tail.
