I am posting these merely for my own use - pleasure of re-reading the oldest and most well known fics (well at least from my time in the fandom).
These are vintage Harry Potter recommendations (some from as far back as maybe 2000). Most of the stories are gen - and the links (at long last) are active!

She joins the staff in the fight against Voldemort and learns more of the man behind the dark sarcasms of the classroom. Will *eventually* be Snape/Hermione. Lupin is again the Professor teaching Defence Against the Dark Arts, and has a black dog who lives with him - Sirius Black in his animagus form.

Summary: After the war has ended, the Dream Team return to Hogwarts to finish their N.E.W.T.s. They soon learn that there is more to real life than playing the hero, and that relationships come in varying shades of gray. (best fic in the genre besides PtQ)
