This morning, my husband took me flying. He needed to check out an instrument with a flight instructor, so rented a Cherokee. The instrument in question turned out to be broken on this plane, so R practiced landings and takeoffs. The third landing, tight in the back of a small, warm plane, left me more than a bit green - still, when we climbed over the cloud cover, the view was heavenly.
Despite the motion ick, it was a nice thrusting back into gear for me. I have been underwater in terms of school these past two weeks, my reed poking out of the river to suck in air.
Tonight, I finish the edits from my last grad school assignment; just received details on my upcoming class. I managed to write last night, polished up two poems and sent out two submissions, recently rejected by other venues. I lovingly booted them back out the door.
In other news, watching the entirety of LoTR again, now in the third movie. Reading snippets of many books. Just ordered:
"To Be Gifted and Learning Disabled: Strategies for Helping Bright Students with LD, ADHD, and More" - for grad school
"The Adventures of Luther Arkwright" - for me
"Curious George's Big Book of Curiosity" - for my nieces; the eldest just started kindergarten
It's a rather motley mixture, apropos for me.
Off to work!
