Back from New York

Gladness.

Kitty was so happy when we came home that she actually drooled on my shoulder, Topher at least interpreted this as happiness :) She was purring like mad. I'm typing one-handed because she is latched on to my left shoulder with me holding her bottom up and gets upset if i try and shift. Right back to 2 hands now.

The talk with the curator went really well and she liked my work. Had interesting points/reaction as well. Hard to know when/if it goes anywhere as far as the Drawing Center itself, but she did give me advice and some resources to check into. We got on well and at the very least I think she'll remember me. Hopefully she'll remember my work as well.

New York was fun, but I LOVE living in SF. Glad to be back. One thing I do know is how fortunate I am right now. So good to spend time with Topher when his brain wasn't being squished by work- just enjoying each other and what was around us, goofing around. :) Uploading fun pictures now.

I remember the other visits I made to New York, and how they were in a rare moment in my post-leave-home life when I actually had a full-time job (teaching gymnastics while going to grad school) and so wasn't looking for loose change so I could afford food and coffee. For going around midtown/uptown New York (with it's expensive food, museum fees and because it was winter both times, having to buy things to be able to sit indoors in the warm). I also had the benefit of staying in a family friend's apartment- because I could not have afforded a hotel even then- maybe a hostel. Maybe.

So strange to be there and able to do things like take the carriage ride through the park I've wanted to take since I was a kid. Or stay at a beautiful old fashioned hotel. So wonderful to be there with the man I love. Better- it still impresses me how easy it is to be with him all the time. Never get tired of each other or on each other's nerves. He's incredibly patient going through museums with me as I stop and sketch and take notes. So much fun to goof around with. :) He's just so easy and fun to be with. makes me incredibly happy. and I get to take him home!.

Happy to be home. Pictures coming soon. :)

happy, travel
