Wow. Amazing night. So lucky with my love! soulrefraction took me to Teatro Zinzanni. Awesomness. People looking at us thought we worked there, as per usual (happened at Cirque too). And everyone wanted my little hat. We painted Topher's head in red glitter swirls (the glitter from which is still everywhere!). The lady painting people was bizzared by my asking If I could help. Apparently that's never happened.
The choreography on the aerials was even more impressive than the cirque aerials I've seen- the skills were similar, but the way they had these two people going.. wow. A Vietnamese guy doing trapeze while balancing a set of glasses on a tray atop a sword, whose point was balanced on the tip of a knife he had in his mouth. Wow. A mad pair (Queeny man and manny lady) switching off in a crossdressing/roleswitching love while singing operatically (and well). Badass blues, scat mixing with opera, Russian juggling madness with hat tricks. and a finish of mad hula-hooping with spectacular lighting.
The whole thing has incredible costuming- all the waitresses and waiters.. everyone comes out in a mad tumble for each course, dressed in things matching the course in odd ways... So much fun, well done.
And the best part is that I get to go home with this incredible man. And every time I do I feel lucky.
