Off to massage, and hellions tomarrow. I turned down the job at one hellion school and ended up at another. 5th grade. Eeeee. Maybe it was just because it was my first subbing job that I had such a hard time. I'm going because I don't want to have a knee-jerk pull away.
Mikey's house is getting demolished. :( He built his own house out of cob on someone else's land with the agreement that he live there rent free for 5 years and then the landowner gets the house. But the landowner sent someone to inspect a potential barn site nearby and he saw the "mud hut" and then it was all over. He's got a few months, but the only thing he could do would be to test it and permit it, which is far more money than he can handle. So he's moving out of the house he built with his own hands after only a year and a half. Such sadness! I would go into a rage in his place, I think.
Mow. :( I haven't even seen it yet, only heard how cool it is. I'm planning to go up before the bulldozers come. At least one thing they can't take from him is the doing of it, and knowing how.
