See, i do things other than fight an uphill battle to get divorced, raise kids and trudge along in Isengard.

I'm taking "Reformer Pilates". I signed up for the class with no idea what I was getting into. I thought I was going to walk out tired and sweaty after an hour of mat work based on past pilates experience. I didn't. I did, however, give my joints a good work out and my planar fasceitus is doing better after my first session. So maybe it's not the work out I was looking for, but it's the work out I needed. It's 5 sessions and the teacher in session 2 clued in that I wasn't feeling any strain when I asked, "What's this supposed to be working?" Apparently my legs are quite a bit stronger than most of her subjects/victims so she found ways to make me burn. Yay! I LOVE the burn and she totally turned up the heat. The second session was great!

Then in the spirit of love I went to a BFF's house last night to deliver her birthday gift. I ran her through a private fitness session. I did most of it along with her and this was on the heals of my reformer class (with the burning legs) so I felt good about getting a solid work out in with cardio. I didn't intend to crush my BFF, but she'd been working out routinely and was telling me about her daily sit-up/push up routine, so I built the session around that understanding. However, she spent the last week not working out at all so "Bikini bootcamp by Threadwalker" definitely wore her out. We warmed up for 5 minutes until we felt the heat in our backs, then super setted 3 different types of squats with arm work, we super setted different ab work outs with arm work, and did some old-fashioned calisthetics (sorry, cant spell today) in there. There were 5 super sets, 2 focused on abs, 2 on legs/glutes and 1 with cardio with a few things like "super man" mixed in to balance out the ab work. There was 30-45 seconds of rest between each set. It was very aerobic. yay! Then there was the cool down pilates/stretching. We hung out talking afterwards and when she lead me down stairs to walk me out, she discovered the onset of muslce ache. Her goal is to do this 2-3 times a week. After I'm done moving and settle into my new nest we'll have a check up session.

Additionally, her hubby was out of town on business and apparently he was bummed that he was going to miss the private session. So he's excited about home fitness, too. How cool is that?

Maybe I should get my "personal fitness trainer" certificate and do personal home fitness as a side business after this divorce nonsense is over. My BFF and her hubby can be my crash test dummies and then down the road, after I feel confident, maybe I can do it for money. A couples home fitness.
