Since I don't have to go to school, looks like time for me to continue working on AlgolX Knowledge Base. Hrm. Yeah, I needa work on view.php which displays pages, make the navigation bar, and begin making a register and then a login script. Whee. I'll warn anyone who wants to join right now that it is not going to be anything remotely secure. I'll probly include view.php?user=&id=&page=
and then put settings after that. Cookies will probly be stored by u= p= so I don't have to store too much info about you on the server. Or include an ID in your cookie as well as in your server-side database. Hrm. Something to think on, I suppose.
Right, anyway, so I got a lot of sleep today. From 11 PM last night to 1 PM today. Ah but I feel rested.
On another note, I have started re-reading A Wrinkle In Time. I think I first read it when I was in 4th grade or so, and I know that in 5th there was a section of it in my literature book...
Its basically an easy read, despite the many Brittish inflections that STILL give me pause... but I enjoy it anyway. Its a good story, and so are the ones that come after it in the series. After I finish the series this time around (I got the box set of 4) I think I might get on my library's catalogue and reserve all the other books by Madeleine L`Engle. I remember reading another by her about the terraforming and colonization of some planet or other... pretty interesting if I recall.
I seem to recall that on the Spy Kids DVD way back a while ago (crappy movie, yet oddly entertaining in places if you recall) I saw a trailer for a MOVIE of A Wrinkle in Time... what happened to that? I thought it was supposed to be summer 2003 that it came out but I don't think I ever heard anything else about it. Or maybe it was a made-for-TV thing that I forgot about and thus missed? Still, think I'd have seen a commercial or something for it.
Lets see, next subject. I neglected to mention it earlier, but I heard a while back that Sega AGES is, indeed, coming to the US a bit after each game comes out in Japan.
For those who do not know, Sega AGES is a series of complete remakes of Sega's most popular games. Basically, they take the games and make them 3D and, in some cases, refine the in-game dialogue. Especially I hear that the translations are going to be done better... They come out on Playstation 2.
In Japan, they already have Phantasy Star I's AGES remake out. This makes me happy, because it means that it'll be coming to the US soon...
Idly, among the games being remade I recall the following titles: Phantasy Star (I/II/IV), Golden Axe (series), Altered Beast. I am definitely leaving a ton out though, but those are the highlights. I wouldn't be surprised if a Sonic game or two is in there, though really I can't imagine the original Sonics being good in 3D. They were perfect the way they were.
Ah, can't wait.
That about covers this update. Later.
