world below - my first happy track
so i wrote this new song that i love. its a house track. it has an undeniably funky beat and rather happy sounding synth. i've never really written a happy track before. i guess its about the feeling you get after you can safely say you're over something. the lyrics were written to be almost ridiculous but they do work as a metaphor for the feeling i was tring to capture.
think of these words over a spacey house beat with a happy melody:
oh boy i'm sailing now
captain of my ship and all is clear skies
moving ahead through the waves
ain't it fun how they lift us up
oh boy i'm flying now
in the pilots seat with the world below
the clouds look so peaceful up here
as they go on forever
there is one more stanza that i used for the chorus but its not as happy so i won't write it.
overall though i see this as an interesting change. happiness has never inspired me before, only crap inspires me. but i guess thats changing. i don't even really know what i'm so damn happy about but i don't ask too many questions when things are good. i just like to ride the positivity wave.
anyway, i can't record this song because i have no mic but nathan, tash, marc (jetta_red), and whoever nathan brings along will get to hear it. i'm going to play it at the feb. 1st show.
