(no subject)

The blind beat the sighted with sticks, who are then told to grow a thicker skin as they bleed.

This comes from my newfound abilities in empathy and exercises in shifting paradigms.  I can see many facets of an issue or perspectives that others can not (or refuse to), once all the information is obtained.  Once I point out these different facets, I have been attacked and ridiculed for them, degenerating into name-calling and questions of my character.  Irony of ironies, *I* have been called ignorant for having the audacity to see these connections.  Some of these people are in positions of power and influence, using their hostile ignorance as a weapon to silence me.

This is the "deliberate ignorance" I mentioned is one of my single greatest emotional triggers.  It used to drive me absolutely batshit.

Thankfully, my frustration is salved by patience borne of that same empathy, remembering that I used to suffer from that same tunnel vision.  I merely hold out hope that one day, my words will carry the same wisdom that my predecessors have tried to bestow upon me, many years ago.  Delayed understanding is better than no understanding at all.
