New pastures

Trying the food around SGH was like exploring a strange exciting country, where you sample food that is cheap but amazingly captivating. Here in Novena Square near TTSH, you are like exploring the city. The restaurants are famous, everything is well-known and expensive. Still, for those who have not seen them before, or want differing opinions, it is worth putting up some pictures.

The pictures were taken with my handphone camera, so everything looks pretty misty, as my camera isn't that good. Nevertheless, please appreciate the dreamlike quality it adds.

We went to this place yesterday when there was a four hour lunch break. Got tricked by the sign and ended up going up one level which was unnecessary.

If you have high standards for food, at least check out the good prices this restaurant has to offer. $9.80 for two main courses and one drink, not bad!

Jeslyn's beef curry rice. I like Japanese curry because of its sweet tinge. The beef was very tender also.

Meat in cheese, really good. I forgot the Japanese name for it, forgive me.

So finally here's something I can write in detail about since I ate it. With a stroke of exquisite skill, the chef placed the half boiled egg on top of the spaghetti, and the egg trod the delicate balance between rawness and toughness. Not easy to make, honestly

Carbonara sauce was not as rich as I expected, but never mind, its tasty enough, and healthy. Still something worth remembering.

We tried this stall outside Waraku, which sells good yoghurt ice-cream

Benlyn's strawberry yoghurt

Gillianne's peach yoghurt

My own blueberry yoghurt, which I thought went well with the raisins. I like the texture and taste of yoghurt icecream interspersed with the raisins.

Since it is the first week of Surgery posting, when writeups and exams are not too urgent, it's good to take a bit of a siesta
