So Charlotte is FUN!

Got in very early Saturday morning, after having hung out with kids from ECG all day Friday (Serenity = SWEET) and even saw Josh and Krista. Then Ryan was a sweetheart and drove me to the train station downtown. Dave picked me up and we came home and then woke up late the next day. Went to church and then drove to the boys' gig in China Grove. So much fun! I love His bandmates and techs and soundguys. They're fun! Let's see. There are the guys in the band: Dave, Jordan, Brandon, James and then the three brothers, Cam, Chad, and Weston. Then Zach and Eric who manned the board, and Brit, their manager. The show went very very well (once it got started because at first they had lots of sound trouble, one of the mains went out), the kids there really got into it, and I went and watched their set from backstage. It was awesome. I love getting to hear Half the Class play. Oh, yeah, the drummer, Jordan stuck his tongue out at me and the camera...so I stuck mine out back at him...that was funny, apparently he didn't know I had my tongue pierced. Priceless look of shock. The show ended, they sold CDs, autographed a few, and we started breaking down (of course by "we" I mean everyone but the snooty rock stars who were either lazing around on their butts or trying to get phone numbers (cough Jordan! cough). I packed up Dave's bass for him, and then did whatever else I could find to do. We finally got everything back in the UHaul and decided to get food and then go back and unload at the church. We stopped at Ryan's Steakhouse and had a yummy meal (gummi bears for dessert!) and I quite enjoyed being the only girl at the table - boys are much more fun when they're not surrounded by girls they're trying to impress. I didn't really get the "Two snakes walk into the desert and one says 'We's not pois-nous, are's we's?'" joke, but oh well.
Went back to the church and started to unload, had a very very unpleasant encounter with a childrens' staff member who essentially accused Eric (most dedicated sound guy for Half the Class who was going to up the latest because he was returning the UHaul after we finished unloading) of stealing stuff. He then blessed out Brit (our "adult" evidently, even though he's younger than Cam and only a little older than Dave) for letting us misbehave and he made me very very angry. Quel rat. These 11 people are at the church at 11:30 at night, clearly UNloading a trailer, one of us obviously had a key to the church, and he knew at least 2 of us....but still, he was upset and said very very rude things that made me want to fire back a few choice retorts, including a few Bible verses. Hehehe. Weston got mad and started making dirty jokes about why he was at the church late with a woman who wasn't his wife: "That's why he's angry. Couldn't get it up, waste of those pills AND 20 bucks!" Yeah shame on Weston. Made us laugh, though. I hope Brit and Chad really did talk to someone about that; if I'd been a random groupie helping them unload who didn't know better, it would have been really easy to assume that all church people are like that.
Oh yeah, I got called a groupie. Can Christian bands have groupies?
Anyway, we unloading (I impressed the guys; since I was so angry, I carried big heavy things that normally I'd have been afraid to even try to pick up, like a big big speaker). Weston greeted me and the load of big heavy stuff on the elevator with "Ahhh, a woman with equipment!" He makes me laugh. Silly Weston. I found out I'm older than Brandon, Weston and Jordan. Weird, I'm used to being the baby. It was cool.
Sunday, we went to Dave's parents for his mom's birthday. Met His sister, Heather, and her husband, Bliss, and their adorable little boy, Little Bliss who is almost 3 and blonde and the cutest little boy! As soon as he saw Dave, "Unca David!" and he even said my name before they left! "Bye bye Sawah!" :-D I felt so loved! Played with Jack, Dave's dog, and had much fun talking with his parents. John grilled dinner, including homemade ribs. Yumminess!
And I swear I'm going to kill Zot if she doesn't stop climbing up Dave's bass. That kitten is adorable, but I have so many scratches and she gets into EVERYTHING! It's a good thing she's so cute, or she'd have been injured by now.
Anywho taking the train back to G'boro. Need someone to pick me up very very late tonight. Oh well. Almost out of money, very very bad.
That's about it. Bye now.
