I went to see John fogerty at
Musikfest yesterday. What a great show. Mr. Fogerty can still rock. I hope I have his energy when I'm 63. He's a better guitarist than I ever realized. It was an added treat when the Musikfest fireworks started just as John started playing "Fortunate Son" with dramatic effect.
I sold my kayak today. That was one of my worst investments. I only used it 4 times, and paid over $500 for it. That's over $125 per outing. :-P I only sold it for $250, but I'm glad to get rid of it. It also made me feel good to sell it to someone who was so excited to get it. I made his day. He has two boys who are outgrowing his canoe, so he got the kayak for the oldest boy. It sounds like he has a wonderful family. I'm jealous. :-(
I also went motorcycle shopping today. I was going to go to my local dealer, but I found out that they are closed on Monday, so I went to a Suzuki dealer 10 miles away. I mostly went to just browse. I've never sat on a motorcycle before, so I wanted to get an idea of what is the right height for me, and get a feel for the different styles. I have been leaning toward getting a cruiser, but today I fell in love with the sport bikes.
They didn't have many beginner bikes. He showed me a
GZ250, which looked totally boring. It would make a good Amish bike. ;-P Then he showed me a
GSX650F. It looked pretty slick, but wasn't too sporty. I don't need a crotch rocket. I mentioned that I had done some research on the
SV650, but I had actually remembered the wrong model number. He said that they were out of the SV650's until next Spring, but they had a
GS500F which he thought I might like. Boy was he right. It was just the right size, it looked sporty, but most importantly, it felt so good between my legs. :-) It turns out that this was the model that I done my research on. Good instincts. So I had left my house thinking I was going to get a cruiser, but I returned expecting that I'm going to get a sport bike.
Tomorrow I'm going to check out Honda and Kawasaki.
