This past week was the toughest week of 2014 so far. I woke up Monday feeling a little noxious. I took a shower, and when I got out, I started sweating profusely. That was when I decide I was staying home from work. I spent most of Monday sitting on or bent over the toilet.
I didn't eat a thing on Monday, and only had a little soup on Tuesday. Wednesday was the day of the ice storm. Fortunately, my commute to work was surprisingly smooth. I just had to drive around fallen trees like The Stig driving the slalom. I mostly drove in the lefthand lane to avoid all of the fallen tree in the right, but I had one close call where a tree fell on the opposite side of the road, took out the both westbound lanes, and took out the left eastbound lane right behind me. The tractor trailer behind me barely swerved out of the way in time.
My stomach didn't really start returning to normal until Thursday, and Friday was my first day back at the gym. While at the gym, I ran into a woman I've had my eye on for some time. She always gave me a smile when I saw her, and she was quick to say hello. But as I found out on Friday, she was merely being friendly. Nothing more.
