Movin' on up...I wish
I'm so depressed right now. I have been living in my 2-bedroom condo for over 13 years now, and I have gotten quite comfortable in it. However, it's too far from work, and too far from friends. I started to look for a new house, but everything I like is just beyond my price range.
I knew when I moved to Morgantown, it was for the value. Nowhere else could I get the same bang for the buck. I got a great 2-bedroom condo with a garage, a basement, and a great view for $110,000. Now my condo is worth around $130,000. However, if I want to find the same thing or better closer to work, I'm looking at paying around $230,000. Now don't go comparing my home prices with homes from California or New York, because I'm not planning on moving that far. But just to move 10 to 15 miles is going to cost me an extra $100,000. How does everyone else afford these places? What am I doing wrong?
