My Dad's a PC, part II

Before Thanksgiving I spent several weeks trying to find a good PC for my dad. I didn't find any. I even looked into building a custom PC, based on the advice of navajo, but researching all of the possible motherboard/CPU combos gave me a headache. In The UK you can "scan" for the service tag on their website, the only time i've had a problem was when i bought a dell motherboard from another country to upgrade a machine, and it didn't have a service tag on it!

I also tried the "scanning" tool, but it couldn't find the service tag either. At first the tool wouldn't work because Windows 7 blocks ActiveX controls by default. But even after I enabled the ActiveX control, it still didn't work.
