Sick and also Tired
Sick. Ugh. I have a generic cold (Sleepy, runny nose, achy, mild cough, headache sometimes), but I didn't go to any classes today partly because of it (partly because of laziness, but...uh...whatever). Instead I spent several hours watching Friends, curled up on the couch under a blanket. And when my sweet housemate Evan discovered that I was sick, he gave me some cold medicine and made me some tea. :)
Now I am at work. Why? Good question. It's only for 3 hours today, and we have a strict cancellation policy that would have forced me to call multiple co-workers and beg them to take my place, which I didn't want to do because I am sick (I think it's a lame policy for that reason). Plus, it's the Friday before break and thus there is not much work to do, so I get to hang out and get paid while I'm at it.
Speaking of jobs, while mine isn't bad, I feel a certain obligation to switch jobs for next semester if at all possible because my current job has nothing to do with my future career aspiration, that is, clinical psychologist (glorified counselor). I barely even work with people in this job!!! So, I think over Fall Break I will start job hunting online, and also update and send out my resume. It's time to get myself on the road to success!
The other thing is, I was invited (by my friend Elsa) to a CD-burning party tonight, but I don't know that I should go in light of the aforementioned circumstances. I may go for a short while, and I may not go at all...We'll see.
