"Rumors"
After band camp today I was hanging out in the band hall and talking to Ash. We were kinda done, so I went over to Rebecca L. to poke fun at how she does push-ups (she looks like she's humping the ground. no lie). I picked an awesome time to make a joke because Rebecca L and Tyrone were talking about something and it seemed pretty serious. In short, what I gathered from Tyrone at the time was that there was a rumor going around about us two. It wouldn't be any more evident with a sign as to what the rumor is about, so I just waited until Tyrone got home from work to give me all of the details. We just got done talking a couple of moments ago, and he gave me the complete story. According to him, Lauren and Rebecca S. were talking to Yuli and Rebecca L. and they were all like "Oh, we know a gay couple in band. They're both guys, one is a woodwind player and the other is a brass player." They even went as far as saying what our names rhymed with. So then, Rebecca L. went and asked Tyrone about it and he just said it was a rumor. Oh, and also Jennifer found out about it too. She even asked Tyrone about it. So, Tyrone is pretty upset right now. He's all like "I don't know what to do." Which is understandable. To be honest, I don't think it's that big of a deal. It might be because I'm leaving in a couple of days though. Tyrone's really worried about tomorrow too. I don't think anything's going to happen. If something does, like someone asking me about the "rumor," then I'll just respond like a smart-ass.
In other news, band camp today was pretty much the same as always. We marched outside in the morning and even had a little contest. There's this exercise called "Around The World" which pretty much sums up every kind of marching you'll ever do. So, each section broke off into sectionals and worked on it and then after that they performed it. The saxophone section won. It wasn't really a surprise. The saxophones march really well. Even with Lain's kinda bad teaching they still did really well. Although, now that I think about it, there were no freshmen in their section because they were gone for Cardinal Camp, so maybe that's why they won. During the second half of rehearsal I spent an hour practicing in a practice room then after that helped out with sectionals. When that was done with everyone moved into the auditorium, so I sat and listened to the band until rehearsal was over.
I really need to start packing for college. I haven't even made the packing list I planned to make, and I leave in 3 days. Wow, that's a scary thought. Anyway, I already started preparing a little. My mom made me try on some dress clothes I had (mainly slacks) so that she could know which clothes to send to the cleaners. I also sorted which sheet music I wanted to take with me. Even though it doesn't seem like much, it's a start.
