Smelly Band

I was at band camp again today. It was pretty much the same as yesterday. Well, less people passed out. A few people had to rest a little after doing 5 laps. The band was punished one lap for everyone who was late. Oh, and they got an extra lap because Ash beat the band at running a lap. We also worked on slides which is marching with your torso facing front and your feet moving another direction. To practice keeping the torso facing front the band does "window panes." You make "window panes" by making Ls with your arms. While I was walking inside the block fixing people it smelled so bad because everyone had their arms up which made their armpits totally exposed. Some people stank a whole lot more than others. I steered clear of them.

In the afternoon I just watched the band work on music. Ms. Meng did want me do run sectionals with Yuli, but that never happened. I did however get to work with the saxophones because they weren't getting this one part in An American In Paris down. Lain wasn't teaching it very well either, but he was trying. He's such a jerk about it too. It's actually a little comical. I'll find a way to instill some proper teaching technique.

That's pretty much it. Oh, when I was taking the Metrorail home there were cops on the Downtown Transit Center platform checking for Q cards and tickets. Metro is really cracking down on people not paying the fare. I, of course, had my Q card, so I didn't have to worry about anything.
