I took a break from percussion/guard camp to take care of some business. Well, more like errands and a flute lesson. First I had to go to the optometrist for a follow up appointment. It wasn't really a big deal and didn't take long at all. The doctor was just asking me questions about my contacts and then she checked them with this machine that shines a really bright light into your eye and they look through this lens. Everything was all fine, so I left with an order of a years worth of contacts and a sample of some artificial tears. The doctor suggested I'd get some because I might need them in college. She's in college herself, so I took her advice. Late night study sessions and all that. And I might fall asleep in my contacts and there won't be any Houston humidity to moisturize my eyes. I went back home and chilled for a while. Then I was off to my last flute lesson. It was kinda sad, actually. I've had the same teacher for practically forever, so it's only natural for a last lesson to be sad. She says I'm one of her "flute children" since I've been with her so long. I'm really glad I took lessons with her too because she's been a major part of my life. She's one of the people who introduced me to music and helped me love it so much. Music plays a major role in my life too. It has practically shaped it. Anyway, I'll definitely be keeping in touch with her. I'll e-mail her or send her a letter a couple of times during the school year telling her how I am and that I'm keeping up with flute.
So, Room 525 is officially getting a futon for whatever reason. When Myles told me about the futon I wasn't really all that thrilled about it. I kinda wanted to keep the room as open as possible because I'm from the West and the West is all about wide open spaces. Also, I don't really know when we'd use it. I guess if we have a lot of people over there'd be a place to sit, but then we would get a couch or something. None of us would really have any visitors over that need to stay overnight either, so who's going to be sleeping on it? Who knows, we'll find a way to use it. I have a funny feeling that we're gonna use it for sex. I'd use it for sex, at least. On the bright side, the futon is only $75 so we'd each be paying $25 which isn't much for a piece of furniture at all.
