She's Just Glad He Wasn't Jar Jar Binks, Jack/Liz, halloween, PGlavenderseaslugNovember 1 2008, 12:19:59 UTC
Liz can’t believe it. She’s dressed up as Princess Leia for the seventh year in a row. Jack knows she dresses up like her, he was with her when she bought new side buns after Tracy stole the old ones, thinking they were leftovers from the Tracy Jordan Meat Machine and wanting to destroy all evidence of that. But that’s not the point. The point is that Jack knows she loves Star Wars and he’s mocked that love every time she’s mentioned it to him. And now, there he is, dressed as Han Solo.
Jenna can’t believe it either. Her exact words were, “I didn’t think a nerdy space guy could ever look so yummers! Jack could make anything sexy.” Liz just groaned and wondered if she could adapt her costume to something else. She didn’t want people to think she and Jack planned to have matching costumes.
Pete, also, was surprised. “Do you think he dressed like that on purpose?” Liz hopes he didn’t, because if he did dress up as a member of the Rebel Alliance, and as the lover of her costume on purpose, there are implications there that she doesn’t want to think about. Surprisingly not because those implications make her uncomfortable, but because they don’t make her uncomfortable.
Tracy didn’t even know what Jack was dressed up as. He asked Jack to do the Jar Jar Binks voice, and Liz sighed. Star Wars got such a bad name from that animated freak. But Jack did do a fair impersonation of Jar Jar, and now Liz was wondering how much of the series he’d seen. Or if he just stumbled onto some YouTube videos and Wikipedia.
She’s also not entirely convinced that he didn’t just mean to dress up as Indiana Jones and got confused about Harrison Ford’s many different roles.
But then he comes into her office and says, “So, Lemon, you’ve spent the whole day avoiding me. That’s not the way for the mother of my children to act.” Liz is kind of confused because he’s just combined his Jack Donaghy persona with that of Han Solo.
“What do you want me to say?” she asks after a pause.
“You know I only watched those movies because on our last date, you made so many references that I couldn’t keep up.” Liz rolls her eyes. Matching costumes was something only really annoying couples did. And she was fairly sure he was going to want to have some weird Star Wars roleplay that night.
“I love you,” she says a few moments later.
“I know,” he answers, and Liz can’t believe they’ve just recreated a real Star Wars moment.

So cute! I love that they recreated a Star Wars moment at the end. I would imagine that being one of Liz's fantasies, and that's so sweet of Jack to study up on his Star Wars for Liz. :)

GAH! This was great, hehehe. I love Liz's assumption that Jack would probably just get confused about Harrison Ford's movie roles - because that just sounds like both of them.
But my favorite part has to be the accidental (or maybe not?) recreation of the big I-love-you moment from Empire Strikes Back. Because not only is it PERFECT and something that would excite Liz, but it also seems like such a plausible way for them to express affection for each other.

Thank you so much!
I totally feel like Jack would be all suave (if you can call the 'I know' response suave) about Liz saying 'I love you' to him. And I also feel like Liz totally has a subconscious desire to recreate all her favorite movie (or soap opera) moments.

The forces of the universe have acted upon them. And the balance was restored in the galaxy.
Yay for Star Wars geekery in this fic! And Jack as Han! And Liz in Princess Leia in battle gear! (I am assuming it is the battle gear. Unless, we were going for the gold bikini?)

This line is so excellently Liz and how Liz thinks Jack thinks. :)

I think Liz would save the gold bikini for later. Maybe not in the office.
Thanks so much for reading!
