I'll Take "Experiences I Could Have Done Without" for $1000 Alex

It has been a really shitty couple of months here and it needs to stop now!  We all caught the flu from hell in March which knocked me on my ass for a couple weeks.  I had almost three days where my fever was over 103 and I seriously thought I was going to die from having the flu.  I'm barely starting to feel human and like I have energy to do something, then Thursday happened.

What happened Thursday, you ask?  Or maybe you aren't asking and I'm telling you anyway.  Dale had the day off because he is working today with training, so we were out running errands.  We'd just finished getting out hair cut (and I look fabulous by the way) and we're on our way to lunch when we get rear ended.  I remember hearing Dale say "what the . . "  and we were hit.  Then as we started trying to move over to the side of the road we were hit again much harder and then one more time where I swear she pushed out car onto the side of the road with the force of the impact.  Dale gets out once the car stops while I grab my cell phone to dial 911 and get out myself.  As I'm sliding out of the car I notice my neck hurts a bit but don't really think much about it as I'm answering questions from the operator.  Dale meanwhile is telling the lady who hit us (who speaks about 3 words of English which seem to be 'car go vroom vroom, sorry') that we are definitely calling the cops despite what she wants.

Once I'm off the phone I notice my neck is really starting to hurt a lot and suddenly I'm shaking I'm so cold.  So I get back into the car and cover up with my coat.  Dale comes over to see what's going on and immediately says he's going to tell the cops when they show up that we need an ambulance.  By the time the EMT's get there my blood pressure was 230 over 150 and I couldn't stop shaking from cold.  After going back and forth a bit, I was strapped to a back board with my head immobilized and taken by ambulance to the ER.  This is an experience I could have definitely done without.  As was the million and one x-rays they took.  Luckily, there are no broken bones, just a bad case of whiplash.

So I'm on lortabs, flexril and motrin which of course means I'm totally drugged, incapable of driving or accomplishing anything (the barely able to move my neck thing doesn't help that) and I'm feeling like the universe has got a major grudge against me.

Luckily, right before I got the flu we used our tax refund to buy laptops and a new mattress so at least I'm entertained and as comfortable as possible right now.  Plus, Giles is getting lots of computer days which he loves.
