Mistletoe is an obligate hemi-parasitic. It draws mineral nutrients from its host and will sometimes strangle the life out of it to its own eventual detriment. Druids used it in celebration and believed it to be an antidote for poision, which is of course patently ridiculous since ingestion causes a variety of stomach ailments and lowers the pulse
