The book I want to recommend is both a book and ebook - it started out on the internet and was then published.

This is where I try and explain it without ruining the end. Basically, there's a tube train carrying 253 passengers, including the driver. Each passenger gets an entry with 253 words saying what they look like and what they're thinking/doing. Of course, when you get people who know each other, the stories overlap and you see all the different sides of the story... It's just a fantastic concept, and I read it over and over again.
