Wow - the last few weeks have been fucking insane...
So is been awhile since I updated this - quick streamlined update under the cut:
England was amazing - We had a blast even though it was exhausting. 8 days was not enough time, but it was great seeing my family. Spent 5 days with my aunt and uncle and then 3 days in Stratford. I love my family and seeing my cousins was great as well. Dave's new restaurant/bar is doing great and we spent a few hours there one of the nights just catching up with him and Robert. And then going to Stratford was a lot of fun, the city is gorgeous. The first day there was our first day we really didn't have anything planned on the trip so it was nice to just do some shopping and check out the Shakespeare stuff. And the entire week culminated in seeing Hamlet at the Courtyard Theater - can I just say that David Tennant plays an amazing crazy person?
A week after we got back was Dragon*Con (actually - like 5 days after we got back). Seriously one of the best times I've had in the States. Definitely will be going back next year. Met some great new friends and had fun hanging out with the ones I was there with. The Marriott was wonderful and now holds some great memories for me I hope to repeat when we stay there next year :) And seriously - Kevin Sorbo is the nicest guy in the world, Gareth David Lloyd, Anthony Lewis and James Marsters are adorable, and Robert Englund is awesome....
We flew home on Monday and started classes on Tuesday - school is going to kill me this semester with the 19 credit course load. Regardless of the amount of work I'm really happy with ALL of my classes and professors which is a nice thing. Usually there is at least one class I'm not overly thrilled with, but this semester I'm enjoying all of them. Its strange to think that I've only got one more semester after this and I'm done at Temple - I'm gonna miss it. Right now I'm trying to focus on getting the work done as I go and getting my honors thesis written.
On the work front... well my boss is still an asshole and I think he gets worse every time I see him. He actually gave me crap about my schedule (again... I've only been doing this type of school schedule for three or four years now?) and had the nerve to tell me I'm taking to many classes and he can't CALL me when I'm in class and that I'm in class to often. I mean, what if he needs to get ahold of me? Good Lord - he KNOWS this is not my career, I work the same schedule (as far as the hours go) EVERY fall and spring. and for that matter, I'm still working OVER 20 hours per week.. on top of 19 credits at school and attempting to teach at the karate school at least a few days a week. *sigh*
K, so that about sums it up end of the summer was amazing, school is going great though busy and work sucks as usual... oh and I'm supposed to be testing in December but haven't trained in about four weeks so I NEED to get back into class this week, hopefully Tuesday night. Even if I can stay late on Monday I can work out after the Aikido class leaves if I hang out long enough, I'll just have to make sure Mike lets the guys know I have a key and can lock up for them.
