Right-o, then--Comment and I'll give you three fandoms.
sabordefresa gave me: Yu Yu Hakusho, Cowboy Bebop, Rurouni Kenshin.
Lez do theez!
Yu Yu Hakusho:
1.The first character I first fell in love with: Kurama--I'm so damn cliche
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Kuwabara, Botan, Itsuki, Sakyo, Kaito
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Um ... I dunno, they're all pretty well-written ... PASS
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Ani Toguro, perhaps the only true major villain. He's an unapologetic creep, there's absolutely nothing redemptive about him, and at the right angle he's even a little pretty--nyuh!
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Hm, alright, I'll stab at this--Yoko. He's still intriguing and it still bugs me that his actual appearances in the show are infrequent, but I'll take the more complicated dynamic of Yoko and Shuichi within Kurama over the King of Thieves most days.
6. The character I would shag anytime: YOMI
7. The character I'd want to be like: Genkai, a little lighter on the bitter
8. The character I'd slap: First choice? Well ... Sensui (sorry, Armand)
9. A pairing that I love: I'm gonna dodge the cliche just for a moment ... Kaito/Kurama
10. A pairing that I despise: Hiei/Botan. Nothing against either of them, I just don't think they mesh well together.
11. Favorite character: Kurama (yes, cliche!)
12. My five favorite characters: Kurama, Yomi, Hiei, Kuwabara, Itsuki
13. My five least favorite characters: I dunno, probably some of the minor ones because there was less development--but listing five minors seems a bit like cheating, so PASS
14. Which character I am most like: This isn't gonna come off as a biased answer, not at all! Probably Shizuru, sans the chain-smoking
15. My deep, dark fandom secret: First few rounds I had watching the beginning of this show I kept missing, like, the first half-dozen episodes, so I got to know Yusuke at the same time I was getting to know some of the other characters who'd just shown up and were getting some of their own development, and I'd missed a lot of his, so ... didn't care much for Yusuke, the fuckin' protagonist, at first!
Cowboy Bebop
1.The first character I first fell in love with: Geez, so long ago I'm not sure ... but probably Ed
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: JET. To give you an idea, this guy's a lot like what would happen if someone based a character off my father, I shit you not.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Dunno man, it's a pretty limited cast....
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Julia. She drives the show more as a plot device than as a character, but when you finally meet her, I don't see anything hateful in her anymore than any character in the show (with the exception of Ed and Ein, being a kid and a dog) has their flaws too, some more than others (Vicious...)
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer: I'd hate to sound redundant, but referring back to #4....
6. The character I would shag anytime: Gren--he's got the best of both worlds going on there!
7. The character I'd want to be like: Jet or Gren--and suddenly, I wanna see a scenario where these two have coffee.
8. The character I'd slap: Faye, but only sometimes.
9. A pairing that I love: Vicious/Gren, as one-sided and horribly-fated as it is.
10. A pairing that I despise: Vicious/Ed--and yes, as a matter of fact, I have seen it *shudder*
11. Favorite character: Gren
12. My five favorite characters: I'm pleading #4
13. My five least favorite characters: Ditto
14. Which character I am most like: Maybe Spike, substituting the martial arts for book-learning
15. My deep, dark fandom secret: I dunno man, it's a pretty laid back fandom... XP
Rurouni Kenshin
1.The first character I first fell in love with: Sanosuke
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Megumi, dramatic as she can be; there's a very mature perspective that comes out later on around the time they pick up for Kyoto.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Man, this shows how disconnected I am from this one's fandom central--I have no idea who the obscene mass-fave is, haha.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Kaoru. With most shounen shows, the main female's always hate-fodder, usually undeservedly. And, like many of those aforementioned females, Kaoru's actually pretty kick-ass, so there.
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Hm--Well, .... PASS
6. The character I would shag anytime: Easy! Master Hiko--and I wouldn't drop the "Master" part, either!
7. The character I'd want to be like: Is it in bad case to cite the titular character? Kenshin's got a lot of angst but it usually doesn't smudge a very optimistic, can-do demeanor, and I like that.
8. The character I'd slap: Yahiko--but that's probably because he's a kid and I'm the eldest of my siblings, haha.
9. A pairing that I love: Actually this show's sort of unique in that it's one that I watch where I don't really focus on any pairings, despite its aspect as a romance, hell, even sometimes as a romantic comedy. So were I to wrack my brain, I think I'd actually answer ... Shishio and the Courtesan (forgive me that I don't remember her name right now!). Think, same sort of dynamic as Sensui/Itsuki, or maybe Vicious/Gren, except that here it's less fucked up in that it's actually reciprocated. I think that in one of their last appearances Shishio basically summed it up in telling everyone it was something they couldn't understand, so don't bother.
10. A pairing that I despise: I'll be cheap and say anything with Yahiko in it. If it's with an adult it's gross, and the episodes with his crushes in them weren't among my favorites.
11. Favorite character: Sanosuke (he's a bit more tangible than Kenshin, personally)
12. My five favorite characters: Sanosuke, Kenshin, Master Hiko, Kaoru, Tomoe (ah, there's a name you didn't see elsewhere here--I didn't forget her!)
13. My five least favorite characters: PASS (maybe I'm too nice)
14. Which character I am most like: I still think this is a biased question--and actually, given the different levels of angst, optimism, and im/maturity thrown together in this show like clean-out-the-fridge stir fry, I choose not to answer!
15. My deep, dark fandom secret: Well, maybe it's not a secret, per se, but I fuckin' LIKED the ending. And I don't mean the inconclusive last episode of the show, either, I mean the horribly melancholic, people-get-this-and-this-happens (vague enough not to be a spoiler, right?) ending--I LIKE it, I do think it's appropriate, and I don't care what nunuvya think! *sticks out tongue*
Anyone else up?
