It's basically "hot off the press" and it's called
In Terms of Lolita. Quoting the author, L.E. Death, "This is what happens when you read Lolita then
sekah ’s Glass House" - which means, yes, this is going to be a Sakyo/Karasu fic, and there's Nabakov references galore. Which should probably indicate what a nice piece of writing it is, but as intelligent references don't necessarily mean the piece making said references is intelligent itself, I'll go ahead and make assurances: GOLD.
And hell, I actually had to look up one of the non-Nabakov references myself that was slipped in there. This one's getting so watched.
I myself have still been working on the next chapter of Youth Gone Wild that I mentioned before, but I'll be working on that Yomi/Sensui crack-fic soon. I've also been investing a lot of writing recently in an original piece I took up around Christmas break that I've finally given title, appropriately, An Ill Humour, since the story contains personifications of the Four Humours (the protagonist is the Choleric Humour). I've posted
bits of it here before;
rotynd ought to recognize them.
And though I'm in the latter portion of my summer break, I'm finally getting some work aside frm helping clean the sign shop my dad works at once a week (I'm cleaning once a week; he works all week). Next Tuesday OJ's picking me up to stay with him and his girlfriend through Sunday morning so I can work with them at some fiesta in Topeka selling ice from 5-11 each evening during that time. For four bucks a cup. If I was paying four bucks for a cup of ice, I'd probably stick it in my freezer to show visitors and tell them it came from the last glacier or something. All in all, though, the stint will pay around $250, and I'll probably give a bit to OJ for the gas he'll use getting me. I don't have to worry about a ride home because my mom'll be coming this way through Topeka Sunday morning. (I have one sibling here with me now because the other one's been exiled to a rural grandparental location as punishment for some dumbfuckery with some friends; that Sunday they're being switched out because the other one's going to visit one of my dad's sisters in Seattle for a few weeks, which is pretty cool.)
And this afternoon I've got an interview in town at four about some temp work at an apartment complex, doing odds and ends like painting and cleaning stuff and things like that while they're doing their big annual tour thing at the end of the month. I don't know what those hours or the pay will be, but I guess I'll find that out this afternoon. When I'm done with that I'm going to the library to look into a bit of research (for two different projects, I need to see if they have any Charlie Parker and Sex Pistols CDs), and then go looking for a gift for Amanda's birthday. Which is next Thursday, so I won't actually be here for it, but she's either getting it this weekend before I go or next weekend when they pass through Topeka on the way to get the other sister, haha.
On a completely random note: IT'S HUMID HERE. It was raining not ten minutes ago, and now the sun's out again, and earlier while walking the dog it was a bit like moving through water and the apple I was eating was trying to sweat its juices out or something, man!
