Yesterday I'm certain she saw my point when my aunt and grandmother both tried broaching the subject of the girl before being roadblocked by the prohibition my dad put on that subject for yesterday. My aunt said that they could gossip about it later, then, so I said something like "My point" and my mom nodded. I'm also certain that there are inevitable opportunities to bring up other greivances, and I shall have to do my best to remember and take care that my delivery is not provocative so that I can get my damn point across the first time around.

I might try to find a list of their contemporaries or something and see if there's a streak I need to discover.

I've also found the communities Disturbing Books and Literary Quotes pretty good, too. Seriously, the bookmarked pages on my computer have more or less doubled with entries about books I want to go back and get the titles of when I have the time to go look for some of them.

Damnit, like I don't have enough bookmarks like that, and paragraphs from comments in odd places saved in every other document in my computer because no really, I'm gonna go and get the titles I need and then find time to read them, for sure.

It would indeed be awesome if you've discovered some awesome literary time and place; you could write a book about it and lead their return to popularity! Or their first-ever popularity in America, I dunno...

Yes, yes - finding a way to put it so that the point penetrates. That is the trick, innit...
