What do you mean by dream? Huh?
Okay. The game setting itself is not a dream that the characters are having. The idea is that all of life is a dream. You're a dream, I'm a dream. Every character is as real as every other character. The idea of a dream is to give as much of a YMMV (your mileage may vary) setting as possible. You get to decide what your character can and cannot take back to their world. How things happen to your character in the hotel/grounds. What rules govern your character's home universe. Do the CSI canons take place in a world where magic fizzles as soon as it's cast? Can people develop an active X-gene if they have too much exposure in a Marvel universe? It's all up to the people with characters from that universe.

Or, to put it another way, things operate on dream-logic. Just because something cannot work in one world doesn't mean it can't in the game world. It's an ever-shifting setting.

Characters are not necessarily banned from coming into the game through their dreams, although this does set more of a limit on people coming into their world through the game, but it is not The Way Things Are. There isn't a specific Way Things Are when it comes to how characters interact with the setting.

So how does my character get there?
YMMV. Some people have them open a random door and, ta da, they're there. Some people have them just stumble on it while walking around the forest/plains/downtown. Some people have them going into one hotel and finding something different. You could have someone dream it, or cast a spell that goes wrong and throws them there, or anything else that appeals to you.

My character died in canon and was resurrected, can I play him?
Yes. The dead clause affects characters who are taken out of play in their home world, and ghosts. Vampires, zombies, resurrected people, and similar who still play a role in the physical world are allowed. If in doubt, ask.

Can I ... ?
Chances are the answer is yes. The things to consider are
.....1) Is this a permanent change that you want to have happen? If so, comment here.
.....2) Is this going to force a reaction out of other players? If so, talk to those players.
.....3) Is this a plot idea rather than a detail or one time thing? If so post
here.
If it doesn't fit into those three questions, go ahead and do it.

Is there a ... in the hotel/on the grounds?
See above.

Can my character go back to their own world?
Yes! They can also go to other worlds. While you need to get mun approval for character A to go into character B's world in character it doesn't have to be on purpose.

If the OC is from an established game with well-filled information section, can I link there for the majority of the "explain the OC world they come from"?
No. The application is, in part, a handy reference guide for the mods when it comes to your character. While not everything is going to make it in, it's supposed to be enough that if someone comes in saying that "such and such is totally against what the character has been saying their world is like!" we can check and see if things are on the up and up.

If the character is from an established game can things from one game affect the other?
This is one hundred percent up to the moderators of the other game. We don't care if you bring outside game things into this game, but if your moderators get in our faces about you claiming we gave you permission to have (insert game breaking thing) in their game we will throw you to the metaphorical dogs. The only game we control is this game. Refer to the rules of your other games for how other games work.

Can I do (potentially dangerous to other characters) action in my entry post?
As long as the key word is potentially, yes. You can't say "anyone who tags this will lose their index finger" but you can say "his target is the index finger of anyone who comes near". Don't godmode, and you'll be fine. Some people might want to have their character wrassle a pissed off were-alpaca, you never know.
