North Cascades Trip/Piqs

It's good to get a bit of time to upload some trip piqs.  We had a wonderful time backpacking in the North Cascades.  I've created a photoalbum online, and you can access all of the trip piqs here:

We hiked up rainbow ridge and spent the night overlooking Mt Baker, then hiked out and part way up and onto ptarmigan ridge the next day.  What I remember most about the trip was the peacefulness that never fails us in the North Cascades, up Highway 542.  We saw a ptarmigan, an eagle hunting from a tree scrag, and the clearest night sky with meteors galore.  On the way up to artist point I saw an avalanche down a glacier on Shuksan, and we saw a moon sliver with a planet very close to the bend in the sliver at sunset.  It was so quiet and beautiful with views everywhere, so the photos might not capture it.  The next clear weekend we are going back to hike all the way out on ptarmigan ridge, right up to the climber's camp at the base of pinnacle point and the glaciers, so be looking for more photos of the amazing wilderness soon.
