Rantings from the bonfire
I'm trying to recover from this weekend, but it's slow-going. I'm sleeping in a hot room in an air-conditioned townhouse (due to poor ventilation) and it's affecting me; I'm not sleeping well. So if this week's rant seems a bit disjointed, that's why.

THURSDAY:
alchemy_dc returns to ensure my lack of Thursday night boredom! The place wasn't big, it was GIGANTIC, cavernous, expansive.. and still a "work in progress". Tis OK it gave me my new hangout joint: The Big A/C Vent in the Black Room (ahhhhh), just look for me or Richard or Marti or loss_of_signal or exquisitetrash, or Keyska or Gabriel or Eddy or.. :)
Had fun upstairs in punksteve's lair checking out some old-school punk band. I love watching old-school punk bands live, makes for great entertainment!
Went downstairs and did very little dancing for fear of collapsing due to the heat. Passed out FDMG flyers out and about and went to bug Ryan of strangelandrecs of course (thanx again for the great Celldweller Hunt!)
And cool to see Christina again before she took off back home to Arizona. Wish she could've made FDMG before she left, dangit..
Oh and the Big News of 2006: I FINALLY HAD THE NERVE TO TALK TO CHANCE! (Ok he came up to me, but still..)
FRIDAY:
Things with those_who_mourn Leadership meeting did not go as planned: Markus was still getting his car back from Fredericksburg; Rick and Layla were very late, David and Marian had to go to bed very early, and I had to leave even earlier to meet with another German friend, Sebastian, who came in to talk about an upcoming PHP project I might do. But I did see about the first 20 minutes of the Princess Bride. And normal_dan showed up. I left, went and hung with Sebastian, twas fun of course!
SATURDAY:
Found out my friend Jaakob from Finland is coming to NYC the same weekend I am! That RAWKS! That means I'll be hanging with him as well as checking out Albion, hopefully meeting the Great RPG writer manablast and just enjoying the Supremacy of NYC..
This after getting up at 3pm.
I got all dressed up and headed to Georgetown to buy gawthy accessorizations for FDMG. Got the coolest hat from The Hattery but couldn't find any decent black pants nor shirt, so I just winged it with what I had on. Went to Pentagon City to buy disposable camerss, got lost and wound up in DC, and yet I still made it to FDMG.. even if Eddy beat us all to it.
Those who came: Rick and Layla, Markus and Sarah, Eddy, Richard, parad0cz, scarydavedc, nneosmceino, dreammuse, kat928, her sister and kids, Amanda, her sister Becky, her friend Katie and some other friend I didn't know, coffinwolf and Michelle, normal_dan, Ron, Jaun-Pierre, xkommunik8 and me. Afterwards a few of us went to dcmidnight (though we never knew until now why neither parad0cz nor scarydavedc showed up), just Rick and Layla, Markus, Richard and me. Tried to comfort and encourage a very distraught lordlicorice while also trying to figure out what was going on with John the Reaperian and his lady friend. Took some pics of Keyska and Gabriel, and of DJ London, and talked tattoo again.. was glad to help out midnightscott and belladonnas_web as much as I could with trying to get FDMG folk to come to dcmidnight, of course, as that club is worth supporting.. Found out from Rick that "Warlock" isn't Warlock this whole time.. and Marti had better show up at something I do or else!
SUNDAY:
Our monthly those_who_mourn leadership meeting with Rich was cancelled due to his having to preach that Sunday evening. That would do it. Dangit, YOU COULD HAVE GIVEN ME THE KRISPY KREMES! (you really had to be there). Markus, Sarah, Amy and I were there, Rick and Layla came gawthily late (the Bridge didn't help either), and normal_dan just came late period.. We went to our usual Fridays haunt after calling Eddy and dreammuse to join us; Richard was helping someone move so he couldn't make it, however, Jimmy shows up (and talks and talks and talks and.. OMG talks) but brings a very cool friend Chrissy with him, so we had fun hanging, talking about tats, piercings, body modifications, cyborg modifications, aesthetic gunshot wounds, oh and dogs.. dreammuse shows the pics from FDMG he took and we all traipse home at 12:40am, the longest we've ever stayed at Fridays yet..
And you wonder why I'm tired now?
