Well reader, this will be the first of hopefully many regular posts now that classes have started up again and I am getting back into a normal schedule and on campus much more often. Ok, so let's cut straight to the chase then, shall we?
Well, on Tuesday, I had just gotten back from karate practice and settled down to relax and gotten a drink and all when my roommate is walking out the door and informs me that the group is going to hit the Wild Wings bar/restaurant (what is that place anyways?) for karaoke and just to chill and stuff. So I get ready to go again and head over with him to hang out. We gather the group all together while all the girls are freaking out over what to wear and accessorizing and all that stuff (not that fashion is not important mind you, I just don't fully understand girls' obsession with it myself) and after 15 minutes or so we head on down. We split into two cars with me going in Tara's car and I abandon my cheesenips that I had been eating up to this point in said car (hmm, I still need to get those cheesenips back...but I did get some new penguin! ones from the new Madagascar movie from my mom so yay!). We hang out at karaoke and eat some food for cheap since about half the group works there and we have connections like that ;) (just kidding, they just have a good deal on Tuesdays). Karaoke was fun though none of us did it and it was a good, fun party atmosphere which I liked a lot and we all enjoyed it I think. Then Heather wanted us to go to the Georgia Theater to see some band that was performing there for free that night and so that we could hook up with some other friends and hang out. So we did that and that was kool. The band was much better than I expected, Xtra Medium was their name, even though they did mainly covers of well known songs by big bands like 311, Sublime, Weezer, and Rage Against the Machine. They did a cover of Eminem's "Forgot About Dre" song which was pretty kool and crazy, albeit unexpected. They also had a good bit where they all were beating on drums like crazy tribal stuff and that was kool. Then we headed on out and ran back to the car in the parking deck staying real close to the sides of buildings and futilely trying to protect our heads. Oh yeah, it was raining. ;) Haha, gotcha reader. Pretty good huh? The whole reversal, hysteron-proteron bit, ya? Took you a sec to figure it out right? Haha, ok, I'll stop now. ;) It was raining HARD though, like cats and dogs squared hard, and we all got soaked. Jordan and I took off our shirts in the car b/c we were so wet. I kind of felt bad for the girls b/c they can't really take off their shirts or anything since, well, ya, but eh, what can you do really? I guess biology and sociology are inconvient sometimes but that's a whole 'nother rant/theory thing anyways so I won't go into that. In conclusion, I have determined that any time one goes home from downtown without one's shirt on, then odds are they prolly had a really good time and know how to party. ;)
Ok so, Wednesday. Hmm, fragments for grammar nazis. ;) Oh well, here we go. Kind of just chilled until around 3 or so and went down to the Snelling dining hall to get my new schedule to work. Well, seems that Snelling closes right at 3 during the summer and that I am able to start working at about 3 so I am not working for Snelling and the food services beuacracy doesn't know what they are doing or talking about. Ah, big suprise there but, oh well, whatever. They sent me to Bolton and my schedule worked with them so everything is kool now. I also know one or two people working there and it seems kool and similiar to Snelling and my good friend Heather is working there too so that's also kool and the grammar nazis will kill me for this run on sentence linked by flimsy and conjuctions but eye doo knot kare. (Saur-e Emily 4 awl this whore able gram are. ;)) Speaking of nazis, haha, what a horrible transition but it actually kinda makes sense here and is somewhat appropriate if that is even possible with nazis???, anyways, I saw a thing on the Hitler/History channel about Reinhard Heydrich and how he was the guy who played a key role in making the Holocaust and the SS executions more efficient and practical by introducing the idea of the gas chambers for mass murders which was an idea he picked up from the German government's earlier method of execution of the mentally retarded and insane. Luckily he was asssasinated, although the entire town of Lidice was wiped out of existence in retaliation by the nazis. Here is some more info if you're curious ->
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heydrich . All I can say about this man is that I am amazed that such people even exist in this world. Well, I can't really say people b/c Heydrich was not a human being really. He was a monster. A cold blooded, efficient, genocidal, arrogant murderer. Eh, it still sends a chill up my spine even trying to imagine how evil this guy was, let alone Hitler. Eh, sorry is that disturbed anyone there but I found it interesting, albeit slightly disturbing.
Hmm, the bus is about to come so I gotta head, but I will try to pick up more from there in my next post and so that this won't end on such a downer with Heydrich and all, here's a cut that should make you feel happy or amused or something.
