The Thorson Challenge: Exercise 6 - Two prong attack

Nov 26, 2010 10:16

Sorry I missed yesterday, I was busy being happy. :)

Yesterday/Today...the next exercise is a two prong attack. You see, it's easier to be happy in a happy environment. A happy environment is made by happy people. This exercise will allow you and someone else to feel a bit better on this sleepy day.

We are all a bit more pleased when we know others are pleased with us. That whole feeling appreciated thing. We are also a lot more happy when we realize we have things for which we should be grateful. I know a few people (Why don't we pronounce that Pee- Op-Ul?) who keep "gratitude logs" with good results. So, prong one of the exercise is to find some people (Pee-Op-Ul) to whom you are grateful. Savor that feeling and internalize how much they mean to you.

Then prong two of the attack - go express it to them. Tell them how much you appreciate them bringing smiles to your face, letting you vent at them, making you feel sexy, or just watching the kids long enough for you to get your coffee... however big or small the things they do for you let them know how grateful you are and how much they improve your state of being.

I know this goes along with that whole thanksgiving thing... but this is something we all should do a lot more often.
