I have a new boss coming next month. This is exciting and scary.
I just got the old boss broken in. :)
Seriously though, this is an opportunity to redefine my role.
My previous boss took a risk in asking me to tackle IT but it paid off.
It paid off well, I like to think. However, he saw me as "rookie" and not knowing what I was doing.
Well, IT is ever changing and anyone who claims to know everything is a liar or Jono Bacon.
I've cut my teeth though and am now doing things my previous boss doesn't understand.
And he admits it. Wow does that feel good.
I'd like to seize this opportunity for all it's worth. Someone in the office said I might reconsider my wardrobe. They didn't do this in a mean manner and their criticism was with the best intent.
My ability speaks well of me but she might have a point. Maybe I should reconsider the ThinkGeek T-shirts on Thursday and start wearing more collared shirts. I'm not sure. Fridays still belong to casualness, thats the rule.
So... What do you think the IT guy should wear to inspire confidence? I always trusted the heavy metal band T-Shirt wearing guy over the collar and tie guy. But I am an odd duck.
