Man, I should really write an entry every time I go to Tesco; something amazing always happens.
Tesco is the Czech supermarket-and-so-much-more. It's a 6-story behemoth, with floors for a supermarket, men's and women's clothing, housewares, and electronics. Yesterday, I was approached in the supermarket by a smoky, sleepy man, who mumbled something in Czech. "Anglicky, prosim?" I requested. After pausing to think, he asked me, "Smoke pot?" Man, this guy was stoned out of his mind. Walking around a supermarket, trying to sell weed. Today was less eventful, but I should explain that the Tesco soundtrack has quickly become notorious among our group of students. I remember hearing Guns 'n' Roses the first day, and a barrage of early 90s pop since then. Today was highlighted by the song "Hot Stuff" and some Christian song, presumably called "God Is Watching Us." And none of the people in the store have any idea what they're saying. I really wonder who picks these songs.
After three days of being sick, I went to the doctor today. I have some sort of stomach flu and can only eat white bread and rice for a few days. Apparently I feel weak and dizzy from sodium loss, so I have to drink lots of mineral water. That's enough writing for now--I need to rest up so I can watch the Eagles game Sunday (9pm Prague time). Hopefully the bar serves white rice.
