The photography (and men) of Blake Little

Sep 16, 2008 14:20

Here’s some work from the photographer Blake Little.

These are the “A-List Bears” you’ve heard tell about, or maybe seen from afar, all of them height-weight proportionate (in the photographer’s defense, he lives and works in L.A.), and please no fems. Although as a certain friend says when I call him on his occasional manifestations of physicalist objectification, “If I wanted to see fat people, I’d just look in a mirror.”

But fine - it’s still the photographer’s film, time, and developing costs. And within his exclusive choices, I can still appreciate the beauty of his men as well as the beauty of his portraiture. Here are some of my favorites.

If you’d like to see this work, and probably some of the models (and others like them) from aclose, Little’s show opens at the Wessel O’Connor Gallery in DUMBO this Thursday evening, and if you’re not so geographically blessed, you can view the exhibition online here. Little is a talented and accomplished commercial photographer, you can visit his professional website here. And an earlier collection of his homoerotic photography is still available.
