I was watching a Scanner Darkly and I realized something which the movie faguely hit upon... every age has it's great conflict with which it must face whether it be a war, or some disease, or some addiction or even a combination of those things or something entirely different... in the end a generation must face it or ignore it, solve it or succumb to it and in the end we still survive, not as a culture maybe but as a species. Yes, there will be some challenge that will be far greater a threat to us but still, you have to wonder how far we have to fall to not be able to get up.
