Locke is currently in his room, leaning over the sink and cursing fluently, dripping blood into the sink from where he just set his nose straight. Ow, that hurts. He's still vaguely amused though, even through the pain kind of sucks a little bit. He eyes his reflection in the mirror, pinching the bridge of his nose.

Valen knocks once lightly before walking straight in, and he looks shocked at the state of Locke's nose. "Are you all right? What's happened now?" He moves forward quickly to take a closer look and check that Locke is all right.

He seems mostly all right otherwise, maybe just a bit bruised, and definitely still damp from getting thrown in the lake. He winces, a bit, and tries to straighten.

"Broke my nose. Well, I didn't, someone else did for me, but."

"Why did they do that?" He's glad that Locke's otherwise all right. He can't help worrying.

Valen shouldn't worry, says Locke. Locke is clearly a silly muffin.

"I guess they decided they didn't like me."

Valen has every reason to worry, he says. "Just, out of nowhere, or did you and he argue...?"

"I was trying to have a civil conversation." A pause. "Though I was probably rather lucky he managed to drop the sword before going for me."

A startled pause and a shiver for what could have happened. "Yeah, I think you were. I guess he didn't want to have a civil conversation?"

"Apparently not." He might give Valen a look, sideways. "I'm fine, you know."

"Your nose is broken, I can't help worrying." He steps forward to put his arms around Locke and carefully kiss his cheek, careful of the nose.

Oh, Valen hugs are nice. He loosens up tangibly when he does that, and there's a little smile. "You shouldn't have to. It's only my nose."

[cursed_bent]

"Well, you do have a way of attracting trouble, but at least it is just your nose." He smiles when he feels Locke relax and gives him a light squeeze.
